It's raining. The rain isn't very intense anymore, but the lightning is close and the thunder is loud and I love it. I've always found thunderstorms comforting, and living on the coast, there's plenty of them. I'm not from here, so it almost makes up for the oppressive humidity I'll never get used to.
I didn't get many steps in today, but tomorrow I get to wake up at 6 with the husband and go to the gym and run a mile, so it's okay. I'm very slowly but steadily changing my habits, and working out in some form three times a week is miles better than what I used to do. I've only recently broken the bad habit I had where I'd work out when I had energy and then overdo it, and then hate myself when I couldn't match that on a bad day. Or do it every single day after for the rest of ever.
I cancelled my netflix recently, because I realized just how much time and money I was wasting on it. I'll probably renew for a month if Shadow and Bone gets another season, but otherwise, I was just using it to rewatch Gilmore Girls over and over. It was to the point I just had it on in the background for noise when I'm home alone and not even really paying attention to it while going about other things that I actually wanted to focus on.
So I've been trying to read more, and for the times I do need some noise in the house, I've started listening to the Fated Mates podcast. It's actually the first podcast I've really gotten into, tbh. It's about a romance novel series called Immortals After Dark by Kresley Cole, but they also talk about common romance tropes and plots and stuff. I'd seen it recommended everywhere when I was just starting out into the romance community online, and it doesn't disappoint. I haven't actually read the books yet, but I just bought the first one and I'm excited!
